The importance of salah for a muslim cannot be overstated. If you come on a business trip to Woking, you must take into account the time difference with other cities and perform salah exactly at the appointed time.

Prayers in Islam can be divided into two types — mandatory (fard) and desirable (nafl, sunnah). Every fard salah has the time of execution set by the Most High. For the Almighty Allah to accept a prayer, a Muslim must read it in time.

How to determine the time of prayer yourself

Watch a video about prayer times

Fajr time is when you start to see the light of the sun, in the sky like the a white light, you don’t have to see the sun. You can test this by as if you were to look a person in the face and generally see the outline of the face i.e enough light to see that much, then it is Fajr time. Fajr ends just before sunrise.

Duhr and Asr- Duhr starts at the Islamic midday. The Islamic midday is for example you put a stick in the ground. Mid-day is when that stick has very very very little shadow or no shadow as well, that’s Islamic mid-day, that’s when Duhr starts. The first 5 or so minutes you can’t pray Asr, that time slot is for Duhr, likewise the last few minutes before sunset, which is when Duhr and Asr becomes Qada (if you haven’t prayed them before sunset) this time slot is only for Duhr.

Maghrib and Isha — Most Marja’ would say that Maghrib starts when only half the sky has an orange tinge. Some Marja’ say you can pray Maghrib even if the tinge fills the whole sky, but most say half the sky.

As for chanting it in english, Allah judges by intention, so if your intention is to serve/please Allah, regardless of what language, then by all means. however, i would suggest into more websites, reasearch, and to also ask the imams, scholars andf sheiks.
